Video Marketing for Real EstateDuring my technology coaching sessions I often have Realtors question me about ways to get business from Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Being the brainchild that I am, I knew if I was getting asked this question by so many agents that I was coaching then there must be thousands and thousands of agents out there who have the same question. So, I decided to write this blog post about my answer to this common question.
Here are the 6 steps I use to help me get more business from social media and the internet.
1. Decide what your target market(s) is/are. Are you going after 1st time home buyers, retirees, empty nesters, foreclosures, short sales, etc.?
2. Research the demographics of all social media platforms. What is the average age and most common gender of a Facebook user?
3. Hang out where your target market hangs out. For example, if you are wooing only 1st time homebuyers, then there is probably no need to use LinkedIn.
4. Deliver the goods. Post amazing and original content. (This can be a paraphrased article if you want it to be.) The content should portray you as the expert in your industry. Try not to repost an article that someone else wrote that you like because you are helping to promote the author of that article as the expert instead of you.
5. Be consistent. Know when your target market is most likely to use your preferred platform and post your content then. Do not go extended periods of time without posting. Take advantage of Hootsuite or other scheduling services.
6. Be social. It is social media, after all. “Comment” and “Like” others who comment on your post. Interact with your fans and followers, and complete strangers will get to know and begin to refer you.
If you will follow the steps above, I will guarantee that you will start to see success from marketing through social media platforms. So, what do I mean by the word success? Success in marketing with social media is getting emails, direct messages, and phone calls from suspects inquiring about properties for sale, selling their homes, or even referring friends or family to you. Don’t forget to ask people how they got your contact information. If you don’t ask, then you won’t know which of your marketing efforts are paying dividends.
