We all know Craigslist is the largest online classified ad website. In fact, last month, Craigslist had 52.3 million visitors to its website.  With that amount of traffic, we all understand the value of advertising on Craigslist.  In fact, many of you have advertised your listings on there before. But, did you know that one of the best ways to get real estate leads on Craigslist is to advertise your listings using a clickable advertisement?

A clickable ad is a picture of text or photos describing your listing. By using a clickable advertisement you can multiply the power of Craigslist by 10 and make Craigslist a lead generating machine! The clickable ad contains HTML code that will take someone to your personal website when they click on the ad. Once they get to your website you will have a lead capture form set up where you will capture the name and email address by offering to email a free report, article or something of value to the person visiting your site.  The visitor’s name and email address should be entered into your e-mail marketing database once that information is captured.  From that point, you should begin to send emails and other marketing information to that visitor because he has consented to allow you to email information to him.

The key to making this strategy successful is to email something useful to your e-mail marketing database weekly.  Most consumers choose the first Realtor with whom they have contact, so if you are the Realtor who constantly contacts the consumer then chances are great you will be the Realtor who gets the business.
